With the renovation of the Anaheim Dad Miller Golf Course now complete, the Dad Miller Golf Academy is now available to help golfers improve their game.

Director of Instruction Nick Kumpis will oversee the Golf Academy, providing private lessons with video analysis, group classes, golf schools and junior programs. In addition to classes for students of all abilities, the Golf Academy offers junior, beginners-only and women-only classes, as well as a one-day golf school that includes range instruction and course management during 18 holes with Kumpis.

Kumpis has extensive experience with golfers of all levels and is highly skilled in video swing analysis. In the last five years, he has taught golf in more than 20 states with the ESPN Golf Schools (formerly the Nicklaus/Flick Golf Schools), where he is a Lead Instructor. He was handpicked to join the team by Hall of Fame Instructor Jim Flick, and has also trained extensively with Hank Haney. Both mentors are ranked in the top six of Golf Digest’s “America’s Greatest Teachers.”

One of the county’s original golf facilities, Dad Miller Golf Course in Anaheim has been welcoming guests since the 1960’s. Over the past year, the course and driving range were extensively redesigned. The 15th, 16th and 17th holes were renovated, a new lake feature was created and additional amenities were added. In addition, consistent with Dad Miller’s goal of making the game as widely accessible as possible, the course was chosen as the site for the Tiger Woods Learning Center, which is already under construction within a 14-acre complex.

A more “traditional” course, Dad Miller retains a personality designed for golfers who want a course they can walk, though carts are also available. The golf course is located at 430 North Gilbert and contains the Greenside Café & Bar, which offers facilities for meetings and events, and includes a golf shop and cocktail lounge.
